Default Monking and e-management [PvP]

I didn't found threads like this. If they exist, please direct me to one. If this isn't the right place for this, please move.
So, I'm a mediocre (in my opinion) monk. I do know some basic things about monking, but I'd like to deepen my knowledge. I have tried many different builds, starting from ye olde boon prot and some builds with very little or no energy management. That leads to the point of this thread:
E-management as a monk. I will not post my build here, I just want some tips on energy management as a prot monk.
Is there anyways to train e-management? Any help appreciated. ^^

Not waste energy spamming prot skills
Look at what to prot and who's taking the most damage
Skills like GoLE
Not try to waste too much energy bringing up red bars as a prot monk

There are a ton of emanagement posts around...maybe some in gladiator's section of forum but definitely a lot of good monking posts by tommy on QQ forums.

Use the most energy efficient skill for a situation. For example if someone has three Warriors beating on them, SoA is a more effective skill than RoF.
If you're running a few 10e skills like SoD and Aegism GoLE will make it alot easier.
Don't run inefficient skills like Breeze.

Care to post a link? I've seen actually lots of guys referring to this tommy (iQ's member?), but never a link to their forum. I know there was www.team-iq.net, which was a great source for monk discussion but it isn't working anymore apparently.

75% of energy management is about using the right solution for a situation; that is, converting your energy into maximum damage negation or potential. 25% of energy management is actively gaining or preserving energy with somewhat minimal regard for any other factors.

Here is everything dirty and quick about energy-management:

Statement 1: Glyph of Lesser Energy saves you 29E in a minute.
Statement 2: Using Glyph of Lesser Energy gives you fifteen seconds to use any two skills on your bar free of cost, but you give up a slot on your bar for it.

Understand #2. Worship #2. Practice #2. And if you truly get #2, you are going to make a great monk someday.

The best energy management is wise skill use.

- Pre-prot. Be aware of the battlefield and anticipate damage.
- Kite. Run before they can reach you.
- Do not overheal. Health bars don't have to be full always.
- Learn duration of the most important enchantments
- Sync well with your partner monk (that will take a long time)
- Equip emergency weaponset (15/-1, 15/-1), but don't stay on it
- Use Signets, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Channeling (HA), Power Drain (for fun)

stop casting. I'm not kidding. Spamming rof isn't going to save anyone.

pure e-management skills nowadays are:
Channeling->HA and whenever using mostly 5 energy spells
GoLE->GvG and whenever using 2-3 10 energy spells

Watch the ones who are getting beaten up, and prot them. If theyre starting a spike on someone > spirit bond, heavy melee > guardian, quick heal > rof. Don't look at the party menu, it's much better to see whats going around on the battlefield. Oh and as a monk, they most likely will try to kill you, so learn to kite and cast spells inbetween.

Depends on what area of pvp you do.
Easier in RA/TA because you only have yourself.
- Pre-prot, have different energy sets (-neg energy, +15energy, +30 energy). Divine Boon is fairly dead because of OoB nerf. Usually ZF is the preferred elite in RA/TA.

In HA/GvG, being able to work with the other monk is key.
Over-healing is the biggest problem here. If it occurs, monks will use up their energy quickly and things fall apart quickly after that. Syncing is easier said than done, and what differentiates between an experienced healing team and PUG.

I find for energy management if im prot i tend to use [skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill] sometimes with [skill]Signet of Devotion[/skill].

As healing I use [skill]Signet of Devotion[/skill], [skill]Signet of Rejuvenation[/skill] and I use skills like [skill]Dwayna's Kiss[/skill] and [skill]Words of Comfort[/skill] on people when are they hexed or conditioned which can save using a 10 energy heal or two 2 energy heals, (e.g. instead of two [skill]Orison of Healing[/skill] when someone is poisoned and loosing health I just use [skill]Words of Comfort[/skill], as well as a condition removal )
